Perfect timing! This recipe looks delish! Funny that I had to find it via Paris (Chocolate & Zucchini site) when you are in my hometown (although I live in Ottawa now). I hope you don't mind that I've shared it with a weight-loss group I'm in (with credit, of course). Hoping to take a choux course with you when I'm in Toronto. Thanks for this one...I'm making it today.
Hi Cindy, thanks for subscribing! The weather here in Toronto this week is perfect for this recipe - it probably is in Ottawa, too! Not sure how you found me via Chocolate & Zucchini but happy you did! Clotilde wrote a wonderful book all about these types of food idioms in French - I wrote about it here: https://www.eatlivetravelwrite.com/2016/02/french-fridays-edible-french-by-clotilde-dusoulier/ I highly recommend it - we have a copy in our rental property in France too!
I was searching for Roasted Ratatouille, which led me to her (I was an original follower of hers) and a comment on yours. Her first book was my self-guide to a culinary trip in Paris...many moons ago.
Ah wonderful! I love to hear it! I also followed C&Z nearly from the start. I'm so glad it's still live with all the wonderful recipes and info she provided! And agree - her books are wonderful!
We need all the soup we can get these days, thank you! (irksome question about ingredient substitution: say a person didn’t like coconut milk and one substituted milk or even half and half — would you boost or add anything else to amp the flavour?)
Hi Sydney, I think milk would work here but I might go lighter on the curry powder (especially if it's on the hotter side) for this. Play around with it, but milk will definitely work here. Or you could use extra broth and swirl in some plain yogurt at a serving time if you need it a bit more creamy. Does that help?
I'm loving these idioms, I knew the onions one but this is a new one for me! I just bought a soup maker today, I need to put it through it's paces!
I've made this twice in the last couple of weeks! It's so good! Enjoy! And thank you, I love writing these littlemissives!
